Will my bits fall out if I mount this upside down or stick it on a moving cart? +

No, they stay completely locked in. The base uses powerful embedded magnets that extend full magnetic pull into each individual bit slot, securing your quarter-inch hex bits tightly even if the tray is flipped completely upside down or stuck onto a rolling shop cart.

Does it fit long power grooves or double-ended bits, or just short ones? +

It is designed specifically for standard 1/4-inch hex shank bits. While it holds short 1-inch insert bits perfectly flush and visible, it comfortably houses longer power bits, quick-connect shanks, and magnetic nut drivers as well. Double-ended bits will stick, but won't sit entirely flush.

Will the strong magnetic base scratch the custom finish on my new toolbox? +

Not at all. The underlying magnetic material is a specialized soft ferrogum composite. This design ensures maximum magnetic attraction to steel surfaces while completely eliminating raw metal-on-metal friction, protecting your toolbox powder coating from scuffs and scratches.

Is it hard to pull small bits out when my fingers are covered in motor oil? +

No, they pull out smoothly. The magnetic tension is finely calibrated to hold bits securely against gravity and vibration, yet it releases them easily with a quick upward pull—even when your hands are slick with oil or grease.

Does it include the hex bits shown in the product pictures? +

No, this is for the organizer tray only. It arrives empty and ready for you to clean up, sort, and house the existing 1/4-inch hex, Torx, Phillips, and Allen bits currently cluttering your workspace.
